Milton Keynes casino decision deferred again by council

Scaled down plans to build a casino in the Xscape building in Milton Keynes have again been deferred.

Milton Keynes Council said more information about the impact on traffic was needed before it could grant planning permission.

The original plan for a complex including a hotel and shops was presented by X-Leisure in 2009.

A reduced application to convert the ground floor was made in October 2011 but delayed for further consultation.

The revised plans were returned to the council's development control committee on Thursday which made the decision to defer pending a traffic assessment.

Developers can only apply for a casino licence once the plans have been agreed.

However, two other locations in the Milton Keynes area also have outline planning permission for the complex - the Leisure Plaza near the railway station and Stadium MK in Bletchley.
