The Casino applications for the next Large Licence 2005 gaming act are now in. The Leeds City Council have received 5 applications within the closing date of the 26th of April 2012. Previously granted 2005 gaming act Licences, Aspers Stratford, Aspers Milton Keynes, and Great Yarmouth.

Applicant: Grosvenor Casino Ltd

Premises: G Casino, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2

Type of application: Provisional Statement


Applicant: Leeds United Football Club Ltd

Premises: West Stand Concourse, Elland Road, Leeds, LS11 0ES

Type of application: Provisional Statement


Applicant: London Clubs Leeds Ltd

Premises: The Alea Casino, 3 The Boulevard, Clarence Dock, Leeds, LS10 1P2

Type of application: Premises Licence


Applicant: Rushbond Plc

Premises: Majestic, City Square, Leeds, LS1 2EF

Type of application: Provisional Statement


Applicants will now advertise their application in a local newspaper and site notices will be placed at the proposed location. Interested parties and responsible authorities may make representations about the applications until 24 May 2012.


It is anticipated that stage one applications will be considered at a hearing in July. Successful stage one applicants will be invited to participate in stage two of the application process, whereby the council will determine which application will provide greatest benefit to the city. Stage two is expected to conclude in spring 2013.


As the granting of a casino licence is a statutory process, Leeds City Council will make no comment on any of the applications and the council has no preferred location or applicant.
